He is a member of the Board of directors of Musson Limited, Seprod Limited, Facey Commodity Company Limited and their subsidiary companies. Mr. Clarke is Chairman of the Board of directors of the HEART Trust, the leading provider of vocational and technical training in Jamaica that has an enrollment of over 80,000 students and sits on the Board of Governors of his alma mater, Munro College.
He is also Chairman of the Board of directors and co-founder of the National Youth Orchestra of Jamaica, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that, in partnership with the Organisation of American States, teaches classical music to children in inner city communities, free of charge, for participation in an orchestra, as a means of social intervention.
Mr. Clarke is a member of the Board of Directors of Jamaica’s Central Bank, the Bank of Jamaica and has been guest essayist in the Survey of Living Conditions, the annual publication of the Planning Institute of Jamaica that provides household economic and statistical data that gauges the effect of public policies on the living conditions of Jamaicans.
Mr. Clarke has held Board appointments at many leading publicly quoted Jamaican corporations including the National Commercial Bank where he was on the Board of directors for approximately 11 years, Red Stripe Limited, the Jamaica Broilers Group among others. Nigel was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship in 1994, the Commonwealth Scholarship in 1993 and the Jamaica Independence (Open) Scholarship in 1989. He holds a D.Phil. in Numerical Analysis from Oxford University, an M.Sc. in Applied Statistics from Oxford University and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of the West Indies.
